His first year in Boston, Kevin Garnett
is arguably the most talented player that have not win a NBA trophy. He is an all around player who is able to play in every position, which is quite rare for a 6-11 player. He can play in the low post like a Center, grab rebounds like a Power Forward, play at the perimeter like a Small Forward, score like a shooting guard, and become a playmaker like a Point Guard.
As for the Pistons, the teams have the most balanced starting 5 in the league. They attack and defend evenly. Lead by their own big man, Rasheed Wallace
is able to play down the post and hit 3-pointers. Facing bigger defender, he can play at the outside and he play in the low post while facing smaller defender.
Just by comparing the big man for the two team, I think that Garnett can overcome Wallace. Garnett has longer arm, faster pace and of course, hunger for his first ever NBA trophy. Actually, I am kinda bias also since I don't really like the Pistons that much. Anyway, I think that the Celtics can defeat the Pistons.
Los Angeles Lakers
against San Antonio Spurs
for the Western Conference title
Just like Garnett, Pau Gasol
is a newcomer for his current team, the Lakers. He did everything he could to make the Lakers team better. He score whenever he couldn't find an open man. He hand out assist when he is tightly defended by opponent. He knows what he needs to do at the most suitable time.
As for Tim Duncan
, he is currently labeled as the best big man in the NBA. Last year, he lead his team to win the NBA trophy. Its predicted that he will be able to carry his team once again to win the NBA trophy. He is such a stable force in the court that I feel its kinda boring for me to watch at him.
Now the thing is, the Spurs are a veteran team with an average age of over 30 years old per player. However, the Lakers are a team with an average age of under 30 years old. That means, this series will be the veteran against the young guns. I wanted the Lakers to win cause the Spurs are kinda... boring to me, with the exception of Manu Ginobili
clutch play. Anyway, go Lakers!
